We will always aim to have your prescription ready for collection 48 hours after ordering, but unfortunately due to some circumstances we may not always be able to guarantee this and may take a extra day.
If you prefer you can leave your request for a repeat prescription at reception or post it to the surgery, you may wish to fax the prescription on the following fax number 0208 548 5963. Tick the items you need on the right-hand section of your previous prescription form. Your prescription at times could take up to 72 hours for collection. You should attend the doctor at regular intervals to ensure your drugs are working correctly. The doctor may on occasion ask to see you before issuing the prescription.
We are not able to accept requests for repeat prescriptions over the telephone.
An emergency prescription will be made available if you find you have run out of medication, please contact the receptionists who will endeavour to help.
Safe prescribing is of the utmost importance to us and although we will do our best to supply a prescription as soon as possible we have to ensure that errors are kept to an absolute minimum
We highly recommend patient to register on the EPS (Electronic Prescription Service) so we can direct the prescription to a pharmacist of your choice for your convenience, saving you time visiting the surgery.
A new system has been created to make it easier for you to pick up your repeat prescription. It is called the Electronic Prescription Service, or EPS for short.
The Electronic Prescription Service is an NHS service that sends your prescription from GP surgery to Pharmacy without the need for a paper copy.
Nominate a pharmacy of your choice and this pharmacy will receive your prescription directly from your GP, via the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS).
With EPS you will not have to visit your practice to pick up your paper prescription anymore. You will have more choice about where to get your medicines from because you can choose a pharmacy near to where you live, work or shop.
EPS is reliable, secure and confidential. Your electronic prescription will only be seen by the same people in GP practices and pharmacies who see your paper prescription now.
If you are interested in using the Electronic Prescription Service speak to your pharmacist or GP practice staff.
You can also find out more about the Electronic Prescription Service by logging onto http://systems.hscic.gov.uk/eps/patients
Please only order the medications you need
Alternatively you can now order your repeat prescription online via https://patient.emisaccess.co.uk/.
(Note, that you have to register as an online user first which can be done via the web site!)
The EMIS Access system will allow you to do the following:
- Book an appointment
- Cancel an appointment
- Order repeat prescriptions
- Change your contact details
To use this system you must complete registration forms in the practice to acquire a username and password. Please come into the surgery and speak to one of the receptionists who will be able to help you.
We are keen to ensure that patients with ongoing medical problems are monitored regularly. If the date for your next review with a doctor or nurse has passed you will be asked to make an appointment.
