Medical education

We are committed to the education and training of the next generation of GPs as we believe this to be vital to the future of general practice as a whole and that our own patients directly benefit from the enhanced service and experience those trainees will bring to the Practice

We are a Training Practice for doctors intending to enter General Practice, and you may be offered an appointment with a GP registrar. These doctors undertaking training are fully qualified in medicine, with a great deal of hospital experience. They are completing their specialist training as a GP.

A GP Registrar is a registered medical practitioner who has chosen to specialise in general practice prior to their becoming an independent general practitioner.  Training doctors may be attached to our Practice for periods of between three and twelve months, and patients find that their fresh, enthusiastic approach adds to the healthcare we provide. We are confident that they will give our patients modern, effective and caring treatment.

We also train Junior Doctors who have elected to become GP’s and are in the GP training schemes, sometimes you may be asked to see these doctor’s who are supervised on a case basis by one of the regular GP’s.
